— Understand the basic building blocks of IT infrastructure in a banking environment

— Have an overview of the relevant standards applying to reference data

— Know the main products and vendors of market and reference data

— Understand the issues relating to instrument static data such as symbology, data ownership, securities master files and data scrubbing

— Have an update on the latest offerings in the low latency marketplace, and their appropriate usage within a dealing room environment

— Understand the technical infrastructure underpinning some of the leading market data feed and platform products

— Be aware of the regulatory issues surrounding market data usage with respect to Basel II, and a brief overview of MiFID, UCITS III and the requirements of Sarbannes-Oxley
